My 3 Favorite Public Toilets in Bangkok
When you think of Bangkok, you imagine gleaming temples, floating markets, tasty street food, and vibrant nightlife. But for those who spend time exploring the city on foot, a much more down-to-earth question quickly arises: where are the best public toilets?
Because yes, finding clean, accessible and pleasant toilets in a big Asian city is not always easy. And yet, Bangkok is an exception. There are several clean, modern and even designer places to take a break.
So here is a personal top 3 — tested, approved and ranked — of my favorite public toilets in Bangkok. Whether you are a curious tourist, a demanding expat or simply an organized traveler, you will love these places… surprisingly comfortable.
1. Terminal 21 Toilets – Asok
Location : Terminal 21 Shopping Mall, Asok District
Access : Free, accessible to all, close to the BTS and MRT
Hygiene note : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Style : Themed, design, surprising
Terminal 21 is a shopping mall like no other: each floor is decorated according to a city in the world (Rome, Tokyo, Istanbul, San Francisco, etc.). And the toilets follow the same concept !
You can literally find yourself in a booth with Roman columns, Japanese décor, or Hollywood posters. But beyond the style, the toilets are extremely clean, well-maintained and air-conditioned.
Each floor has its own toilet, so you can even choose your vibe.
Paper towels, automatic soap, illuminated mirrors — everything is designed for comfort.
Why I go back every time :
- Easy access (near Asok BTS / MRT Sukhumvit)
- Original and fun atmosphere
- Impeccable maintenance even at peak times
2. Siam Paragon Hotel Toilets – Ground floor and upper floors
Location : Siam Paragon Shopping Mall, Siam District
Access : Free, even without consuming
Hygiene note : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Style : Luxury, marble, 5-star hotel atmosphere
Siam Paragon is one of the most luxurious shopping malls in Bangkok. And you can even feel it in the toilets.
Wide cabins, marble, soft lighting, a room fragrance, and sometimes even a permanent cleaning agent. The toilets on the ground floor (near the food court) and those on the 4th floor (near the cinemas) are particularly beautiful.
It includes:
- Automatic soap dispensers
- Powerful automatic dryers
- Hot water at sinks (rare in Thailand)
- Changing tables for families
Why I like to go there :
- The high-end setting
- Tranquility (even in crowds)
- The silence, almost restful
3. Benjakitti Park Toilets (New Wing)
Location : Benjakitti Forest Park, northeast side
Access : Free, free admission to the park
Hygiene note : ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ☆
Style : Nature, Wood, Minimalist
Fancy a “nature” break between two shopping sessions? The recently renovated Benjakitti Park offers modern and eco-friendly public toilets that are integrated into the landscape.
They are made of light wood, naturally ventilated, and cleaned regularly (especially on weekends). It’s a perfect place for those who don’t necessarily want to enter a shopping mall for a simple break.
There are also:
- Toilets adapted to PRM
- Drinking fountains next door
- A very relaxing setting
Why I recommend :
- Great place if you’re out for a walk or a jog
- Close to Sukhumvit, but away from the hustle and bustle
- Open early in the morning, ideal for sports enthusiasts
Bonus: how to easily find toilets in Bangkok?
Here are some practical tips:
- Google Maps works well: type “toilet” or “public restroom”
- The large malls have them on every floor: MBK, Central World, EmQuartier…
- BTS/MRT stations sometimes have them, but not always open to the public
- 7-Elevens don’t have restrooms (or rarely), unlike some cafes
Tips
- Always bring a small packet of tissues, just in case
- The soap is often liquid, but towels may be missing depending on the location
- In parks, prefers toilets in newer or renovated areas
- Avoid those at bus stations if you are sensitive to hygiene
Conclusion
In Bangkok, it is quite possible to find clean, modern and even pleasant public toilets. This ranking may seem unusual, but it reflects a reality: urban comfort also depends on these small details.
Whether you’re out shopping, out for a walk or on your way to a temple, you can now stop at one of these places with confidence.
And you, what are your favorite toilets in Bangkok ? 😉
